| The DiscipleBuilding Process
We
believe that there was a process that Jesus use to develop his
disciples. As Christians we are obligated to do the same. This process
involved Jesus recruiting, training and empowering his disciples to
become what we now know as the pioneers of the greatest religious
movement in the
To begin to understand how to do what Jesus did we need to look at how it started. In John 1 we can see the call of the first disciple, Andrew. From an evangelistic point of view you may think that since Jesus is calling these disciples he was the first evangelist. On further observation it is clear that the first Christian evangelist was John the Baptist. John introduced his disciples to Jesus and some of them decided to follow him. It is also our responsibility to introduce others to our savior. This is called Evangelism. Whether or not they decide to follow him is their choice, but introducing them to him is our obligation. This is why the first step in our DiscipleBuilding process, which is represented by the blue arrow in our logo, is evangelism. The Last Commandment Evangelism Training will help believers to understand the need for evangelism and develop techniques that will take away the fear that causes most Christians to avoid witnessing. Pastors, if you want to jumpstart church growth the best way to begin is to mobilize your membership through evangelism. As your members become equipped to share jesus with others they will bring in others and that how healthy churches grow. Once these new members come in the now need to be discipled. Discipleship After Jesus recruited his disciples he began to train them. He allowed them to observe him as he engaged in ministry and taught them as they traveled together. He began by revealing to them who he was and kept training the all the way to the cross. For this reason the second step in our DiscipleBuilding process, which is represented in our logo by the green arrow, is discipleship. The DiscipleBuilders Discipleship Training will train believers the same way that Jesus trained his disciples, using the processes in the order that he did. This training is matched with the 3 year Pastors if you want to close the back door to your church and move members from attendance to service this can be done through discipleship. As your members become disciples your sermons impact them deeper and they become participants instead of spectators. As this happens these members turned disciples start to become leaders. Leadership After spending 3 years with Jesus, seeing all of his miracles and hearing all of his teaching, the original disciples were still not ready. After his crucifixion Jesus came back and, for forty days, prepared them to take charge of the ministry that he had started. Even after he ascended to heaven they still had to wait to be fully equipped through the Holy Spirit to serve as apostles. When discipled believers express a desire to serve in ministry they still need to be trained. The LeaderShift Leadership Training, which is represented in our logo by the red arrow, will equip trained disciples to pursue their call to service in ministry. When leaders understand what to do and why the take ownership of their position and perform at levels that even they could not have imagined. I have heard of many burned out pastors who do all of the work in the church. God has placed the resources in each church or ministry that it needs to go to the next level. All that is necessary is to mobilize those human resources to get it done. |
